Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City, in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz USA, is thrilled to announce our partnership with Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) to support the education of students pursuing careers in Automotive Technology. This partnership marks a significant step forward in preparing the next generation of automotive technicians for success in the industry.

Launch of the MBCampus Program

On October 3rd, we celebrated the kick-off of the MBCampus program at OCCC, where President Jones and the dedicated staff rolled out the red carpet to commemorate this exciting collaboration. Our Shop Foreman, John Paul Gyetvai, captivated attendees with insights into the history, technology, and innovation that define the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Innovative Curriculum

Beginning in the spring, OCCC has integrated Mercedes-Benz-specific curriculum into its Automotive Technician Internship Program (ATIP). This initiative allows students to earn factory-specific certifications, equipping them with the specialized knowledge and skills needed to excel in Mercedes-Benz service centers across Oklahoma.

Flexible Learning Opportunities

OCCC's ATIP is designed for flexibility, enabling students to enroll at any time throughout the school year. With both day and night classes available, students benefit from a comprehensive learning experience that combines classroom instruction with hands-on training. To enhance their education, students are required to gain practical experience in an independent shop, franchise, fleet shop, or dealership as part of their on-the-job training.

Commitment to Workforce Development

As John Claybon, OCCC's Dean of Business and Information Technology, stated, “OCCC is working to meet the demand for a skilled workforce in the automotive technology industry. Oklahoma City Community College offers flexible and affordable programs taught by top-notch instructors using state-of-the-art equipment and facilities."
